The Digital Services business unit focuses on leveraging data science, technology, and enterprise architecture to enhance UCAS' digital products and services. The unit is dedicated to developing and improving customer-centric digital solutions, ensuring seamless and secure online experiences for all users.
The role of Salesforce Developer serves as the team’s technical specialist, responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions and maintaining strong expertise in UCAS systems. This role will provide technical leadership to uphold coding and design standards, while also developing the team’s capability through coaching, mentoring, and sharing best practices.
Key accountabilities:- Assumes the role of key development and technical specialist resource for the team and is responsible for developing and delivering quality software solutions.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of existing UCAS applications & systems.
- Provide technical leadership and share best practices across the team to ensure coding & design standards are adhered to.
- Provide coaching and mentor other team members in key technologies and developments to improve the general skill set of the team and increase knowledge of solutions.
- Develop solutions, both declarative & programmatically, across core Salesforce products.
- Accountable for the development of quality solutions based on technical requirements.
- Code/configure and document complex solutions from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools and conduct reviews with others as appropriate.
- Essential Salesforce Certifications: Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder, Salesforce Developer 1.
- Substantial experience leading and designing apex-based solutions; experience of LWC would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs and integration via APIs, software design patterns.
- Significant experience of coaching and mentoring junior members of staff, with a proven ability to develop individuals and input into performance evaluation.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experienced in designing and building usable and scalable systems and applications.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, large-scale agile change initiative with multiple technologies.
