\”I am because you are\” – LOCATION: Seisdon, Wolverhampton – HOURS: Shift work including sleep‐ins, weekends and bank holidays

As a Therapeutic Support Worker, you will provide safe, nurturing, trauma‐informed care to children living in our home. You will help children feel secure, valued, and understood, supporting their emotional wellbeing and development within a therapeutic environment. Your practice will be guided by the Ubuntu philosophy, the Children\’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high‐quality, child‐centred therapeutic care.

Build trusting, consistent relationships with children.

Safeguard children in line with policies, procedures and risk assessments.

Recognise, respond to, and accurately record behaviours and concerns.

Support children\’s individual needs, identity and voice.

Maintain a safe, homely, therapeutic environment.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals.

Maintain accurate records and participate in effective handovers.

Apply learning from training (including PACE and PRICE).

Engage in supervision and ongoing professional development.

Essential Criteria

Level 3 Diploma in Children\’s Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).

Understanding of safeguarding and trauma‐informed practice.

Calm, empathic, and child‐focused approach.

Ability to work shifts, including sleep‐ins.

Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria

Experience working with children or young people.

Experience in a children\’s residential care setting.

Training in PACE, DSKL8, or similar therapeutic approaches.

Experience supporting children with complex needs.

Basic IT skills.

All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references, and safer recruitment checks. Ubuntu Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

InductionAll applicants will be required to take part in a two‐week induction to complete safer recruitment checks, mandatory training and shadow shifts prior to starting work in the homes. This will be fully paid.
