The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded Technical Sales Engineer to step into a role where the demand already exists and is ready to be converted. Working within a well-established and growing business in the MEP sector, you will act as the technical authority within the sales team, supporting account managers on more complex, engineering-led enquiries. Rather than starting from scratch, you will focus on unlocking and converting an existing pipeline of opportunities that are currently underutilised. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between sales and delivery, taking ownership of technical enquiries, shaping solutions, engaging suppliers and ensuring successful project delivery from start to finish.

The Role

Commercial and Technical Responsibilities
  • Work closely with account managers on site visits and client meetings across London and the South East
  • Act as the internal technical expert for all engineering-related enquiries
  • Scope, qualify and convert opportunities involving bespoke fabrication and MEP systems
  • Provide confident and credible input on specification, programme and product selection
  • Develop strong working relationships with M&E contractors across sectors such as commercial developments, high-rise residential and data centres
Supplier and Project Delivery
  • Develop and maintain a network of specialist fabrication partners
  • Take full ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to completion
  • Manage external CAD resource, ensuring drawings are commissioned, reviewed and delivered correctly
  • Ensure work is priced accurately and commercially, balancing supplier costs with margin expectations
Pipeline Management
  • Introduce and manage a clear pipeline for all engineering enquiries
  • Track opportunities, conversion rates and live projects
  • Report on performance and activity on a regular basis

What You Will Bring

  • A strong background within the MEP sector, whether mechanical, electrical or plumbing
  • Experience within technical sales, fabrication or M&E distribution
  • The ability to read drawings and confidently brief CAD or fabrication partners
  • A commercially driven mindset with a focus on converting opportunities
  • Experience managing external suppliers and delivering against programme requirements
  • Confidence working directly with clients both on site and in meetings
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple live projects at once
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine can-do attitude

Why Apply

  • Immediate impact, with engineering enquiries already coming through an established customer base and sales function
  • The opportunity to shape how engineering opportunities are delivered, building processes and a reliable supplier network
  • A varied role combining technical expertise, commercial awareness and project delivery responsibility
  • The chance to join a growing organisation with clear ambitions and strong market demand
  • This role would suit someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of engineering, sales and delivery, and is motivated by turning technical opportunities into tangible results.
