Commercial Air Conditioning & Ventilation Engineer

Location: Mobile role – Greater London

Hours: 40 hours per week on site (with overtime available) (no pressure to do more than 40 hours per week)

Salary: £36,000 – £50,000 (DOE) + door-to-door travel + enhanced overtime rates

The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded HVAC services provider is seeking a skilled Commercial Air Conditioning & Ventilation Engineer to join its growing operations team. This is a dynamic, field-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of commercial environments, including office spaces, leisure facilities, healthcare settings, and educational sites, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services. You’ll be trusted to manage your workload, supported by a well-organised office team, while representing a company that values professionalism, teamwork, and long-term relationships with both clients and employees.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of HVAC systems, including AHUs
  • Diagnosing faults and delivering effective repair solutions
  • Pressure testing, leak detection, evacuation, and refrigerant recharging in line with regulations
  • Replacing and upgrading components where required
  • Using manufacturer software to assist with system diagnostics
  • Checking and optimising system controls (basic BMS understanding required)
  • Accurately recording works via a mobile field management system
  • Communicating clearly with clients on-site, providing updates and professional advice
  • Participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a commercial HVAC engineer
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing ability
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset
  • High attention to detail, especially in reporting and compliance
  • A strong commitment to safety and professional standards

Essential Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas Category 1 (mandatory)
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

  • IPAF, PASMA, and manufacturer training certifications
