Our Client, a reputable family run business based in Lancing, West Sussex are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their small, but growing team. As Warehouse Operative, you will be a key player in providing an efficient and reliable service to their customers, working both independently and as part of a team. If you thrive in a collaborative setting then this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the role will involve:

  • Goods in, the unloading of containers, heavy lifting, manual handling and forklift operation
  • Order picking, packing and dispatching of landscaping products
  • Some production functions involving the operation of machinery

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure all customer orders are fulfilled and despatched accurately
  • Order management, ensuring all orders are picked, packed and despatched accurately, timely and efficiently
  • Back orders are fulfilled immediately
  • Sample requests are despatched promptly
  • Marketing literature and promotions are distributed efficiently
  • Ensure supporting equipment is ordered in effectively not hindering distribution such as printer rolls, paper / pallets / wooded beams / screws / power tool accessories
  • Maintenance of site and yard when required
  • Any machinery / tool used is to be safety checked maintained and defects reported
  • Support colleagues within the department when required in line with business needs
  • All departmental areas to be kept clean, clear and kept in a safe working environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment
  • Physically fit and comfortable lifting heavy materials
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solver and innovative mindset
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Forklift certificate highly desirable
  • Previous experience of goods in and use of ERP system highly desirable

Benefits

  • Permanent full-time role working 47.5 hours per week with a paid 1-hour break - Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm
  • £14.10 per hour
