About The Role
We\’re on the lookout for a Key Account Manager to join our growing team in Nottingham. This isn\’t a cold-calling, new business role — quite the opposite. You\’ll be nurturing hundreds of existing accounts, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and ensuring our customers remain loyal and satisfied.
As a trusted point of contact, you\’ll build and maintain long-term relationships, proactively speak with customers to uncover needs, and ensure we\’re never losing out to the competition. You\’ll be based partly in our Nottingham office and partly in the field — and with full autonomy to plan your own day and appointments, this is a role that rewards initiative, organisation, and drive.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Managing and growing relationships with a large portfolio of existing customers
- Identifying sales opportunities and cross-selling across our product/service range
- Speaking with customers via phone and in-person to understand their needs
- Quoting, booking appointments, and completing light admin work
- Taking customer orders and passing them to the relevant processing teams
- Monitoring competitor activity to ensure customer retention
- Enjoying the freedom to plan your own diary and manage your time effectively
Requirements
What We\’re Looking For
- A confident communicator with experience in account management or sales
- Someone proactive, well-organised, and commercially savvy
- Ability to spot and act on sales opportunities within existing relationships
- Comfortable with both office-based and face-to-face customer interaction
- A team player who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service
- Proven success in B2B field sales, preferably in the packaging industry or a related sector such as manufacturing or thermal solutions
- Outstanding communication and people skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Strong negotiation and closing skills to convert opportunities into long-term customers
- A valid driver\’s license and willingness to travel across your assigned territory
