Your role
UBS are looking for a talented Design Leader to help create highly usable and intuitive digital products for our users and manage a team of talented UX designers.
Are you an analytical and creative designer who can grasp user needs and solve problems? Do you enjoy increasing user satisfaction through an attractive and coherent design experience for products?
You will participate in all aspects of the design process, from supporting the facilitation of workshops, seeking and organizing user feedback, synthesizing insights to identify design opportunities to sketching, wireframing and prototyping solutions. You\\\’ll be able to demonstrate prior hands-on, detailed-oriented UX design experience. In addition to your hands-on skills, you will lead a team of talented designers, setting the bar for quality and ensuring that we communicate the business value of design across our entire organization.
We\\\’re looking for a Design Leader in the HRCS UX Design Center of Excellence to:
- manage, mentor and guide a team of designers, providing feedback on their work, helping them grow their design career at UBS and inspiring them with your own UX deliverables
- Be a strong evangelist for the business value of design and help implement our dual-track agile process, including discovery and delivery activities
- develop the visual style and interface of digital products based on user stories and design best practices
- plan and facilitate ideation workshops along the design process to align the product-vision with the product owner and get all needed requirements of the product: e.g., journey mapping, design sprints, storyboarding or other design thinking methods
- understand user needs and create actionable insights and personas enabled by user research, and synthesize these into tangible design solutions
- build, test, and refine prototypes and conduct a design direction for products, services or journeys including prior wireframing
- work closely with cross-functional agile team members to improve (digital) products and journeys iteratively and continuously based on all phases of the design process
- contribute to specifications for developers, and review the implementation of these specifications
Your team
In our agile operating model, the Design CoE sits within our Group Functions HRCS Tech stream. You will work alongside product managers and engineers to improve the design and user-experience of our products. You will increase the awareness of design and its value to the organization and users. We are a new, nimble group and excited to get our design journey started. You\\\’ll be working in the HRCS Tech team in London
Your expertise
- proven experience as UX Designer or similar role
- experience managing large design teams and mentoring talent
- previous experience planning and facilitating ideation workshops in agile environments
- team player with an enthusiastic and proactive personality, agile mindset and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good attention to detail
- strong active listening and communication skills to build networks and partnerships at all levels
- some prior domain knowledge of / demonstrable interest in / affinity for financial products
- experience with design software – particularly Figma
