Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental credit analysis on leveraged loans and high yield bonds, including detailed review of financial statements, operating performance, and credit risk drivers.
- Build and maintain financial models to project cash flows, assess leverage, covenant compliance, and downside scenarios.
- Prepare high quality investment memoranda and support Portfolio Managers during Investment Committee discussions with clear analysis and recommendations.
- Evaluate new primary market opportunities by reviewing offering materials, attending management or bank calls, and assessing deal terms and documentation.
- Monitor secondary market positions, tracking performance, pricing, and credit developments, and flagging risks or opportunities to the investment team.
- Support ongoing portfolio monitoring by updating models, preparing credit reviews, and contributing to risk, valuation, and investor reporting.
Qualifications
- Ideally 3–7 years of experience in corporate/leveraged finance or credit (research) investing; investment banking / leveraged finance experience preferred.
- Strong finance & accounting skills, including cash flow analysis and earnings quality assessment.
- Solid understanding of capital structures, leverage, and credit ratios.
- Fundamental credit analysis capability, including default risk, recovery dynamics, and covenant protection.
- Ability to read and interpret loan agreements and bond indentures, identifying key covenants, structural risks, and legal protections.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; self-starter who thrives in a flat team, with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
