Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of high‑quality client materials, clearly articulating industry trends, strategic options and transaction opportunities.
  • Play an active role in client engagement, contributing to the development of ideas, maintaining dialogue and supporting long‑term relationships.
  • Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day execution of transactions, coordinating closely with senior bankers, product partners and junior team members.
  • Oversee and review financial models and valuation analyses across a broad range of transactions, including M&A, IPOs, follow‑ons, capital raises and other strategic advisory situations.
  • Provide insightful analysis of the biopharma sector, including company positioning, pipelines, competitive dynamics and market developments.
  • Guide analytical workstreams and problem solving, helping clients evaluate alternatives and supporting well‑structured recommendations.
  • Manage transaction processes to ensure timely, high‑quality execution.
  • Support and develop Analysts and Associates, contributing to a collaborative, performance‑oriented team environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in investment banking, with a proven track record in M&A, ECM and/or related corporate finance transactions (6+ years).
  • Significant experience within the biopharma sector, with a solid understanding of its key drivers, competitive landscape and transaction dynamics.
  • Demonstrated experience advising biopharma clients on strategic and financing transactions, with exposure across different stages of company development.
  • Good understanding of biopharma‑specific fundamentals, including pipelines, clinical development stages, regulatory pathways and key valuation considerations.
  • Ability to independently manage transaction execution and coordinate multiple workstreams, with a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong financial analysis, valuation and modelling skills, with experience reviewing and guiding detailed analytical work in a biopharma context.
  • Confident communicator, with the ability to build credibility with clients, senior stakeholders and internal partners.
  • Intellectually curious, with a genuine interest in scientific innovation and market developments within biopharma.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and strong integrity.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; an advanced degree (MBA, MSc or PhD in life sciences or related field) would be viewed positively.

Your team

You’ll be working in the Healthcare Investment Banking team in London, with a focus on biopharma. You will work closely with our US and APAC biopharma teams. Our team advises healthcare clients across a full range of strategic and financing matters, including mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets transactions, capital raises, private transactions and broader strategic advisory. In this role, you will work closely with biopharma companies across different stages of development, supporting them on key strategic decisions and capital markets activities, while building trusted relationships with management teams and investors. Our team combines strong deal flow and an international client base with a collaborative and supportive culture. Directors play an important role at the center of execution and client interaction, working closely with senior colleagues while helping to guide and develop more junior team members. We place a strong emphasis on teamwork, sound judgement and consistently delivering high‑quality outcomes for our clients.
