Responsibilities:
- Support the origination and execution of M&A and Capital Markets transactions in the Infrastructure and Power sector in EMEA.
- Actively contribute to key workstreams in live transactions, including financial modelling, due diligence and preparation of client deliverables.
- Collaborate with product partners, country coverage teams and other sector coverage groups to ensure seamless client coverage and transaction execution.
- Make an impact across Infrastructure and Power verticals, including Power, Utilities, and Infrastructure (Transport to Digital Infrastructure).
- Contribute innovative ideas and strategies to enhance client coverage and drive business growth.
- Develop a broad skills base and understanding of UBS sector and product groups.
Role Overview:
You will be working in the Infrastructure and Power team within the Investment Banking division (UBS Global Banking), based in London. The team is one of the leading Infrastructure and Power franchises in EMEA and is a leader in sell‑side M&A, having been active in many landmark sector transactions. You will join as an Associate Director with responsibilities across different sub‑sectors. The primary sector focus includes Power and Renewables, Transport Infrastructure, Value‑add, and opportunities for cross‑staffing with Digital Infrastructure and Healthcare.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Ideally 2–3+ years’ experience in investment banking (full time or internships) with both marketing/origination and transaction execution, focusing on M&A.
- Experience with financial modelling (operating models, DCFs, merger modelling, LBOs).
- Strong analytical skills, detail orientation and problem‑solving ability.
- Advanced Excel and high‑quality PowerPoint skills.
- Collaborative working style and ability to build effective relationships across teams and regions.
- Ability to work under pressure and balance multiple transactions and workstreams simultaneously.
- Clear, confident communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
- Passionate and motivated about career development and relationship building within UBS and with clients.
