Your role

Are you passionate about financial markets and interested in how companies raise capital? Do you enjoy analysing market behaviour, understanding investor sentiment and working on high-profile transactions in a fast-paced environment? We're looking for someone like that who can:

  • Support the execution of a broad range of equity capital markets transactions, including IPOs, accelerated bookbuilds, follow-on offerings, rights issues, convertibles and other equity-linked financings.
  • Monitor global equity markets, sector developments, investor activity and transaction performance to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
  • Analyse trading dynamics, valuation frameworks, market conditions and investor feedback to help advise clients on transaction timing, structure and execution strategy.
  • Prepare market updates, transaction analyses, investor feedback summaries and client materials for senior management and corporate clients.
  • Assist in the management of live transactions, coordinating between coverage bankers, syndicate desks, sales, trading, research teams and external advisers.
  • Develop expertise in equity issuance processes, bookbuilding mechanics, deal pricing and capital markets execution.
  • Contribute to origination efforts by generating market insights, transaction ideas and strategic solutions for clients.

Your team

You’ll be working within the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Syndicate team in Global Banking. The Syndicate team sits at the centre of the equity issuance process and acts as the link between corporate clients, investment bankers, investors and the firm's Sales & Trading platform. The team is responsible for advising clients on market conditions, transaction timing, investor demand and execution strategy whilst helping manage the successful execution of equity offerings from launch through pricing and allocation.

You will work alongside experienced ECM professionals on some of the most significant equity transactions across EMEA, advising listed companies, financial sponsors and shareholders on accessing public markets and managing stake sales. The role provides unique exposure to clients, investors, senior management and market participants across multiple geographies and sectors. This is a highly visible and intellectually demanding role which combines elements of investment banking, capital markets, investor engagement and market risk management. Successful candidates will gain a deep understanding of how equity markets function and how major transactions are executed in real time.

Your expertise

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a relevant field could be a plus but not a prerequisite.
  • Prior experience in Investment Banking, Equity Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Equity Research or Corporate Finance is advantageous.
  • Strong interest in financial markets and a desire to build expertise in equity issuance and capital markets execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Dealogic, FactSet, Capital IQ or similar market intelligence platforms.
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesise large amounts of information and communicate key messages clearly and succinctly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-moving environment.
  • Commercially minded, intellectually curious and motivated to develop innovative solutions for clients.
