Your role
- Operating as part of a team of senior global strategists based in different locations as part of UBS IB Macro Research
- Carrying out research on transforming data to intelligence, working with and analysing a vast amount of data
- Writing code, extracting insights with the aim of generating actionable trade ideas
- Regular interaction with sales and trading, for example through participating in morning calls and answering ad-hoc requests
- High level of client exposure, especially among institutions such as hedge funds and real money investors

Your team
You will be part of the UBS Investment Bank’s Global Strategy team, which is housed within Global Economics and Strategy. The team focuses on providing Strategy content to multiple internal and external clients. The team is responsible for generating trade ideas and maintaining extensive contact with clients, with a focus on hedge funds and institutional investors. The team also works with the wider macro strategy and economics group to produce cross-asset product.
Your expertise
- Strong academic credentials with a focus on mathematics, finance or computing e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or Physics from a leading university
- Intellectually robust with a keenly analytic approach to problem solving and a positive attitude
- Self-organised with the ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects and with competing business demands and priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain a close working relationship with sales, traders and clients
- Strong English writing skills that allow for clear expression of views without wholesale editing
