The UBS Global Industrials Group is looking for a dynamic and driven individual to join our team. We're looking for someone who fits the below description:

  • independent thinker, who will find creative and correct solutions to senior clients and alike
  • strong analytical skillset, able to define, guide and review detailed valuation (LBO, DCF, comparables, transactions etc.) and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions
  • proactive and driven, capable of actively participating in identifying new opportunities and new clients, as well as supporting in coverage of existing clients with new ideas
  • collaborative, and able to work flexibly and adapt to different working styles within the GIG team and across product and country partner teams
  • client focused, and will build and support existing relationships across our sponsor and corporate coverage universe
  • team focused, and will help to build team culture and develop skills of junior bankers
  • dynamic, with an appetite to work across verticals, including industrial technologies, business services, aerospace & defence, automotive, transportation & logistics, paper & packaging and building materials
  • capable of supporting in the execution of transactions across products (M&A, equity capital markets, leveraged finance etc.), i=Industrial

Technologies: Coverage of corporate and private equity owned assets across areas including (but not limited to) automation, green tech, water & flow control, building technologies, power generation & the energy transition, traditional capital goods and many more

Services: Encompasses servicing business models, with particular focuses on equipment rental, facility management, security services, testing & inspection, distribution, staffing, education and BPO

  • Aerospace & Defence: Includes coverage of OEMs and component providers across the aerospace & defence value chain
  • Automotive: Spans automotive component suppliers through to manufacturers & assemblers of commercial and off-highway vehicles
  • Transportation & Logistics: Includes everything that moves or delivers objects and people, from airlines and public transportation to freight forwarding and post & parcel operators
  • Packaging: Coverage across all material types and substrates, with a focus on relationships with key global corporates and sizable sponsor assets
  • Building Materials: Across heavyside (e. g. cement), lightside (e. g. doors) and distribution of building materials

As an Associate Director, you will provide key analytical support in idea origination efforts and transaction execution focused on M&A, leveraged buyouts, and equity / debt / private capital markets transactions.

  • a university degree in finance, economics, business administration, mathematics, or related technical field
  • relevant experience in investment banking including both idea generation and transaction execution (with focus on M&A)
  • excellent financial modelling experience (operating models / DCFs, merger models, LBOs)
  • robust understanding of asset and corporate valuation and ability to lead preparation / review of excel models
  • strong skills in developing client presentations across pitching and execution documents, with the ability to proactively drive creative and original content
  • high level of attention to detail, proactivity and time management across all endeavours
  • passionate and motivated to develop your career and relationships both within UBS and with your clients
  • experience training / managing junior team members to achieve the best outcome for all team members and clients
  • strong communication skills and ability to present internally and to clients
  • previous experience in investment banking role in an / multiple industrial vertical(s) is preferred but not necessary
  • proficient in spoken and written English is essential; additional languages are a plus but not required
  • You're curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows.
