As a Lead Programmer, you’ll be hands‑on with guiding and supporting your team in coding features across multiple programming specialisms within our new gaming project. This role will be all about your care for people, driving performance, and ability planning and putting the project first. We want you to come in and help our programming teams grow and enable a stable, inclusive structure working on various aspects. Alongside leadership responsibilities, there will be a requirement to support the work of programmers to meet the design and technical needs of the project.
As a Lead Programmer at Ubisoft, you will keep the project in focus as you drive your team in both their personal goals and progression, as well as moving the project forward by priority setting with the production and development teams. You’ll be empathetic to the needs of the team while decisive and confident in leadership and decision‑making.
What you’ll bring:
- Evidence of day‑to‑day team management and team development experience.
- Broad knowledge of multiple areas of game development, with the ability to collaborate effectively across these areas (e.g. gameplay, engine, online, animation, tools, or physics).
- Experienced in C++ development within console gaming.
- Experience working with a large game codebase, its modules, middleware and associated pipeline.
- Familiarity with project planning lifecycle.
