Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first person, action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney. Built using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PC, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora brings to life the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience.

As an Environment Artist, you are passionate about building amazing worlds for our players to explore. You have an eye for scale, perspective, and detail, and love to bring a story to life through the creation of awe-inspiring environments. You thrive on conducting in-depth research and engaging in peer review sessions to continuously improve the quality and consistency of your work. This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a successful team, celebrating one of the largest film franchises in history. You understand the importance of collaboration and clear communication, and enjoy contributing to the bigger picture while sharing your knowledge with peers.

As our next Environment Artist, you will play an integral role in building the world of Pandora, communicating the project's vision through tone and style inspired by its narrative and design.

What you’ll bring:

  • Ability to create interesting, detailed, and visually appealing environments;
  • A portfolio demonstrating a passion for worldbuilding with environment art, showing your ability to develop game-ready environments based on concept art and level design blockout;
  • Proficiency with industry-leading 3D modeling software (such as 3DS Max, Maya, Blender);
  • Knowledge of level editors;
  • Understanding of Physically Based Rendering systems;
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques;
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and pipelines.
