Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner with deep, hands‑on ownership of FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book) programmes, ideally within a Tier‑1 Investment Bank or regulatory transformation initiative. This role is NOT a generic Capital Markets BA position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong FRTB regulatory delivery experience, XVA understanding, and the ability to operate as a product owner–style BA across regulatory, risk, and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Product Owner / Lead BA for FRTB regulatory deliverables, owning scope from requirement definition to implementation sign‑off
- Partner with Front Office, Market Risk, Finance, Quant, and Technology teams to deliver FRTB‑compliant solutions
- Drive and document end‑to‑end FRTB workflows, including:
- Standardised Approach (SA)
- Internal Models Approach (IMA)
- Risk Factor Eligibility Test (RFET)
- P&L Attribution (PLA)
- Data models (relational and NoSQL, including MongoDB)
- Calculation engines and reporting layers
- System integrations across risk, finance, and regulatory platforms
Mandatory Skills & Experience (Non‑Negotiable)
- 8+ years overall IT experience, with 5+ years as a Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner
- Proven, hands‑on FRTB delivery experience (must be clearly visible on CV)
- Candidates without explicit FRTB ownership experience will not be considered
- Strong understanding of:
- Basel regulations
- Market Risk frameworks
- Capital calculations
- Deep XVA knowledge, including: CVA, DVA, FVA, KVA, MVA
Technical & Tools Experience
- MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, SQL
- ETL processes and data lineage
- Jira, Confluence
- Exposure to microservices / API‑based architectures (nice to have)
Delivery & Methodology
- Strong Agile / Scrum delivery experience
- Comfortable operating as a Product Owner–style BA
- Proven experience working in regulatory remediation or transformation programmes
- Ability to push back, challenge, and clarify regulatory interpretations
Soft Skills
- Excellent stakeholder management (Front Office to Risk to Regulators)
- High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy
- Confident communicator in high‑pressure regulatory environments
- Proactive, outcome‑driven mindset
