Requirements to Drive:

A valid UK driver’s licence (EU driver’s licence needs to be converted to UK driver’s licence before onboarding).

You will need a private hire licence from a licensing authority such as a council. If you don’t have one, we’ll help you get started with a personalised Ignition appointment where we offer advice and support after you sign up.

Be at least 21 years of age to apply for your private hire licence, as required by the UK government.

Complete the EduMe Course, a virtual onboarding course that helps you familiarise with the Uber app and its features.

Required years of driving experience will vary depending on in which city you are based.

If you have previous employment experience in transportation (such as a delivery driver, driver, professional driver, driving job, truck driver, heavy and tractor-trailer driver, local truck driver, company truck driver, taxi driver, taxi chauffeur, transit bus driver, bus driver, coach bus driver, bus operator, shuttle driver, bus chauffeur) you might also consider driving with Uber to earn extra money. We also welcome drivers who have worked with other peer-to-peer ridesharing or driving networks. Driving with Uber is a great way to supplement your part time or full time income.
