About The Role
Uber Eats is looking to grow the Merchant Operations team in the UK. The mission of the Operations team is simple: make Uber Eats the preferred delivery platform for merchants, couriers and eaters in all cities and towns we operate across the region.
With this role within the Merchant Operations team, your core mission will be to champion our merchant partners. You\’ll dive deep into their entire journey – from the moment an order pings on their tablet, to the food preparation, all the way to the customer\’s feedback. You will not only streamline and improve critical operations for Uber Eats merchants; but also shape the roadmap of future merchant product solutions. With a direct impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of our merchant processes, you will drive initiatives aimed at optimising merchant experience and operational excellence across the merchant base. This role will require you to drive product launches, structure experiments and manage an ever-changing product suite.
This is not a one-person task, though, and to achieve success, you will collaborate with other local and regional operations teams, product, legal, and, most importantly, with our commercial teams, who represent the needs and wants of our Merchant Partners.
What You\’ll Do
- Find and fix friction in the restaurant experience: order accuracy, on-time preparation, clear communications, refunds, and disputes.
- Lead cross-functional projects with Product, Legal, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to improve our restaurant tools and offerings.
- Build models, dashboards, and experiments to size opportunities, validate solutions, and guide prioritisation.
- Work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring projects continue progressing to completion despite ambiguous conditions and tight deadlines.
- Report performance and insights to leadership; codify playbooks that raise the bar for operational excellence.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Business, Economics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain or equivalent (or relevant professional experience to showcase aptitude)
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience within a Strategy or Operations position (e.g. Operations, Consulting, Investment Banking, Corporate Strategy, Sales Operations, Product Management/ Operations), having managed diverse stakeholders and demonstrated an ability to adapt to a fast-moving working environment.
- Strong operational and process-oriented mindset essential for understanding and optimising complex processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication. You can craft a compelling business case and pitch it to senior leaders, confidently telling a data-backed story that helps secure buy-in.
- You are confident in managing and delivering end-to-end projects with autonomy and are comfortable with short-term priority shifts.
- Ability to think strategically and implement long-term plans while maintaining attention to detail and managing day-to-day operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in Marketplace or Restaurant Operations
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Open, curious, and eager to learn – you are interested in all things and can build up skills and knowledge fast to become a recognised subject matter expert amongst your peers.
- Data analytics and technical skills: Advanced Spreadsheet modelling (Excel/ Google Sheet)
