About The Role

As Operations Manager, Driver (Growth Bets) you will be responsible for one of two areas: Vehicles and Electrification or London Black Cabs (LBC) within the UK Driver Operations team.

The choice between the two areas will depend on the candidate profile.

This role sits at the intersection of supply, demand, marketplace, and partnerships.

You will report to the Head of Driver Operations UK, L6.

Iconic London Black Cabs are a critical project at the intersection of supply-side execution, demand generation, marketplace strategy, and high-stakes stakeholder management.

LBC are globally recognized, and while Uber's presence is currently limited, this role presents a massive opportunity for market-shaping growth and scale.

You will be responsible for Black Cab operations, encompassing driver acquisition, engagement, and retention, driver and rider initiatives and weekly reporting.

Vehicles and Electrification (V&E) area includes vehicles-related operations end to end - from partner engagement and co-funded initiatives, to vehicle eligibility, engine type rules, and core operational processes.

It also is responsible for driving the electrification of our supply across the UK, and preparing our supply for new premium category requirements.

Success will require close collaboration with numerous local and international teams, including UK Driver, UK Marketplace, UK Rider, UK Regs, U4B, Policy, Legal, Business Development, Hailables, Product, and Tech.

This role is well suited to a strong operator who enjoys solving complex problems, managing multiple priorities, and building scalable solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Uber's UK LBC / V&E operational performance
  • Collaborate closely with the broader UK Driver Operations team
  • Contribute to and implement the strategy for 1) Black Cab driver acquisition and onboarding, utilizing both direct channels (field sales, driver marketing, referrals) and key partners (meter/payment companies, fleets) or 2) Vehicles and Electrification
  • Own analytics and reporting, translating data into insights and clear action plans.
  • Support strategic partnerships
  • Accelerate LBC/EV adoption among Uber riders through targeted incentives and innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for 1) London Black Cabs and general UK taxi market topics or 2) Vehicles and Electrification
  • Support taxi/electric category launches across the UK
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with UK Marketplace, UK Rider, UK Regs, U4B, Policy, Legal, Business Development, Hailables, Vehicles, Electrification, Product, and Tech.

  • Basic Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in operations, strategy, consulting, marketplace operations, or a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to inform decisions.
  • Experience managing operational processes or programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on taxis
  • Experience working on vehicle charging / fleet management
  • Exposure to 3P supply partnerships.
  • SQL or other data querying experience.
