As the Manager, Driver, UK, you will be a critical part of UK Driver Ops, reporting directly to the UK Head of Driver Operations. You will be responsible for some of the highest priority initiatives for UK mobility supply, which may include driver growth, experience, retention and actioning. Your initial focus will be on the rapid expansion of our UK taxi business, with a strategic focus on the iconic London Black Cabs (LBC). This project sits at the intersection of supply-side execution, demand generation, marketplace strategy, and high-stakes stakeholder management.
You will assume full end-to-end ownership of Black Cab operations, encompassing driver acquisition, engagement, and retention; driving rider initiatives; launching strategic partnerships; and managing key external stakeholders. You will also lead the dedicated Black Cab pod, consisting of an operations manager, a field sales representative, and a driver specialist. Success will require close collaboration with numerous local and international teams, including UK Driver, UK Marketplace, UK Rider, UK Regs, U4B, Policy, Legal, Business Development, Hailables, Product, and Tech.
What You'll Do
- Own Uber’s UK taxi business performance, with a focus on London Black Cabs.
- Own other high-priority UK mobility driver projects.
- Collaborate closely with the broader UK Driver Operations team.
- Drive the strategy for Black Cab driver acquisition and onboarding, utilizing both direct channels (field sales, driver marketing, referrals) and key partners (meter/payment companies, fleets).
- Manage and execute strategic partnerships.
- Accelerate Black Cab adoption among Uber riders through targeted incentives and innovative marketing campaigns.
- Shape Black Cab compliance policies by providing well-informed recommendations.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for London Black Cabs and general UK taxi market topics.
- Support taxi launches across the UK.
- Partner cross-functionally with leaders from UK Marketplace, UK Rider, UK Regs, U4B, Policy, Legal, Business Development, Hailables, Product, and Tech.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with essential external stakeholders, including partners, meter companies, driver unions, and fleets.
- Mentor and lead the team.

- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in operations, strategy, consulting, marketplace operations, or a similarly fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in using data to drive critical decisions.
- Substantial experience managing complex programs involving multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional ownership mindset with a consistent track record as a trusted, respected operational problem solver.
- Strategic thinker able to work through complex, high-level challenges and recommend both short- and long-term solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and drive initiatives from start to finish in a changing environment.
