About the role This role sits within the UK SMB team and is responsible for driving Uber Eats' long-term commercial relationships with some of our top local favourite brands. As the Commercial Account Manager, you'll be managing a portfolio of accounts - collaborating with partners to help them grow their business sustainably, whilst delivering the best experience to our users, with the goal of making Uber Eats their most loved delivery platform.
This role calls for a combination of relationship management, commercial acumen, operational excellence and problem solving. You should be comfortable in an "all hands on deck" environment, love solving problems, thrive in a start-up culture, and above all be passionate about our restaurant partners. What you'll do:
- Portfolio Ownership: Manage a diverse portfolio of UK restaurant partners, taking full accountability for their sustained growth and long-term profitability.
- Commercial Management: Lead high-impact commercial discussions to build sustainable partnerships and secure long-term merchant commitment.
- Strategic Growth & Strategy: Partner with merchants to design and execute growth strategies, including marketing plans, menu optimisations, and operational enhancements.
- Scalable Operations: Collaborate with leadership to standardise best practices and build scalable processes for managing the mid-sized SMB segment at scale.
- Data-Led Insights: Maintain a rigorous "rhythm of business" by tracking weekly performance (WoW), identifying hidden business signals, and quantifying the impact of all initiatives.
- Operational Excellence: Drive continuous operational improvements with partners to optimise the end-to-end experience for both Uber Eats users and couriers.
- Process Innovation: Apply analytical ability and operational rigor to identify process gaps and build tools that maximise partnership KPIs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (Central and Community Operations) to solve complex problems and translate partner feedback into product and operational improvements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain proactive, effective outreach strategies to ensure seamless communication channels with all merchant partners.
What you'll have:
- Commercial Expertise: 1–2+ years in client-facing or partnership roles with a proven track record of hitting targets, upselling, and managing complex, long-cycle deals.
- Analytical & Technical Fluency: Proficient in Excel/G-Suite (specifically Sheets) with a systems-thinking approach to drive data-led decisions and solve customer pain points.
- Strategic Influence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to navigate internal tension, influence stakeholders without authority, and integrate business, finance, and legal concepts.
