Leading at Uber Eats means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As the Head of Inside Sales for the UK, you are the architect of our high-velocity SMB acquisition engine, powering the growth of the UK's restaurant ecosystem. Sales at Uber Eats is not about pushing a product—it’s about building long-term partnerships in a fast-changing, hyper-competitive delivery market. This role leads a team of ~50 sales professionals, with a leadership team of 4–8 Sales Managers. The pace is fast, the stakes are high, and the environment is often ambiguous. You will turn complexity into clarity at speed, balancing high-volume acquisition with long-term partner success. This role is for a resilient, metrics-driven leader who thrives in building while flying and who can transform culture and rewrite the playbook as the market moves.

This role isn’t for someone who wants a polished, predictable environment. It’s for a leader with grit who can adapt to change and drive impactful outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a High-Impact Organization: Oversee a headcount of 50+, driving a unified culture of ownership, energy, and accountability where excellence is the norm and every restaurant sign-up matters.
  • Coach the Coaches: Directly manage 4–8 Sales Managers, developing their skills in strategy, forecasting, and people management.
  • Architect Sales Strategy: Design and implement scalable outreach playbooks and campaigns that balance long-term impact with daily targets.
  • Navigate the Rhythm of Business: Own the weekly forecast and pipeline cadence for the UK SMB org, using data to identify and unblock risks in real time.
  • Manage the “Complex” Reality: Navigate shifting priorities and internal complexity to unlock value for restaurant partners, balancing speed and quality.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Influence: Partner with Operations, Legal, and Marketing to remove friction and align sales with city-specific market strategies.
  • Executive Deal Sponsorship: Act as the “Closer of Last Resort” on strategic deals, modeling resilience in tough negotiations.
  • Own Vendor Strategy: Lead the outsourced Digital Sales Centre (BPO), ensuring external teams align with internal standards and quality metrics to support total market coverage.

Basic Qualifications

  • Sales Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading sales organizations within a high-growth B2B, SaaS, or marketplace environment.
  • Manager-of-Managers Experience: Prior experience managing people managers or leading a distinct "Line of Business" with multiple layers.
  • Operational Rigor: Proficiency in running high-velocity sales cycles, including accurate forecasting, strict pipeline management, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Talent Development: A track record of recruiting, coaching, and retaining high-performing teams, with a focus on developing the next generation of sales leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Second-Line Leadership: Prior experience managing a layer of management (Leading Leaders) is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep experience in food delivery, restaurant technology, or two-sided marketplace industries.
  • Commercial "Player-Coach": Hands-on experience negotiating complex, high-value commercial agreements and the ability to teach negotiation mechanics to a leadership team.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to see the big picture and navigate internal complexity to remove blockers for a large-scale sales engine.
