This is a crucialrole within the Engineering Leadership team that will require working non 9 - 5hours. The Technical Superintendent will support the 24/7 engineering operationfrom the Head Office in London with regular travel to dry dock and occasionaltravel to key suppliers and shipyards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Practicalengineer with technical vessel management experience.
  • Experiencewith management of Statutory and Classification requirements.
  • Experiencein high speed vessel propulsion systems.
  • Projectmanagement experience of bespoke vessel modifications and upgrades.
  • Experiencein budget management and KPI reporting.
  • Familiarisationwith the management of ISM compliance.
  • Familiarisationwith the IMO High Speed Craft Code.
  • Experienceworking High speed aluminium vessels.
  • Relevantexperience of working in high pressure environments whilst maintaining highlevels of safety and maintenance practices.
  • Astrong track record in building good working relationships across diversebusiness areas and functions.
  • Havea proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and to establish goodprofessional relationships with colleagues.
  • Previousexperience and knowledge working to ISO 9001, 14001 standards.
  • Technicalexpert support for the engineers.
  • Providetechnical input to the development of specification and oversight of refits,enhancements and upgrades and the construction of new build vessels.
  • Liaisewith external suppliers and internal resource to ensure the rectification ofvessel defects within SLAs.
  • Work withEngineering Production Controller to produce a daily plan for engineers tofollow.
  • Workalongside the Engineering Production Controller and Dry-dock Manager to ensureannual, intermediate and unscheduled dry-dockings are planned and scoped withappropriate resource to time, quality and cost.
  • Providetechnical support and oversight of vessels during dry-docking inputs.
  • Workwith the other members of the senior engineering team to define, implement andreview technical improvements to the fleet and engineering facilities,providing full technical analysis, creating of business cases for approval andreporting as required and defined by HOD.
  • Monitordefects for trends and implement long term solutions to enhance fleetreliability.
  • Createmodifications to improve reliability, efficiency and customer experience,ensuring documentation is created for engineers to follow.
  • Investigateall delays and cancellations to understand root cause and look to implementactions to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Ensure all warranty claimsare made and ensure suppliers meet SLAs to rectify.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable maritime regulations, includingMCA legislation, Port of London Authority (PLA) requirements, and InternationalSafety Management (ISM) Code.
  • Ensure the department is ready for any external audits at anytime, including but not limited to the annual DOC audit, ensuring consistent,year round compliance.
  • Support investigations intoincidents, and non-conformances; assist Quality Manager identify root causesand drive corrective and preventive actions to fully close out the issue in atimely manner within our SMS.
  • Internally manage hull andmachinery insurance claims from incident through to invoicing.
  • Perform periodic reviews of vesselcalendar and hours based maintenance schedules to identify opportunities toincrease productivity and operational cost savings.
  • Provide and promote the highestlevel of customer service.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective teamwork within departments, ensuring that there is always a safety and customer centric focus embedded in allaspects of work.
  • Develop and deliver training to staff on qualitystandards, safety awareness, and operational best practices.
  • Identify barriers to change and find ways to createsolutions to enable change to take place.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve personal, businessprocesses, environmental standards and overall business performance with afocus on safety, quality and customer experience
  • Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request as requested bythe HOD and any member of the senior management team.
