Job Description

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Analyst, this junior role will support data and business intelligence initiatives across the company. The Junior BI Analyst will focus on ensuring data quality, supporting analytics and data science projects, and assisting in the integration of business systems and databases. The role will work closely with various departments, especially Finance & Strategy, to provide data-driven insights and support business reporting needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence Analyst in delivering business intelligence projects across the business.
  • Collaborate with different business units to understand data & reporting requirements and assist in gathering and integrating data from different business systems and databases.
  • Conduct exploratory analysis on business data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies and perform reconciliation tasks
  • Design and develop business reports and dashboards based on requirements collected from stakeholders.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses, including trend analysis, comparison analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical significance testing.
  • Support the maintenance of data quality and integrity across business systems.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, working independently to deliver outputs.

KEY SKILLS:

Essential

  • Proficient in Power BI and DAX Modelling.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and Excel.
  • Foundational knowledge of predictive modelling and machine learning methods.
  • Understanding of statistics, including both descriptive and inferential techniques.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
  • Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable (or willingness to learn)

  • Experience or knowledge of MS Azure.
  • Familiarity with different data types such as JSON, XML, and TSV.
  • Experience with data analytics infrastructure and database modelling.
