SUMMARY OF PURPOSE: The Finance Business Partner plays a key role in providing strategic financial guidance and support to stakeholders across the whole organisation. This position serves as a vital link between the Finance and Strategy department and the broader business, collaborating with senior management to drive success through the delivery of crucial financial data and insights. This role will be instrumental in aligning departmental needs and operational execution to strategy and budgets. This will include being the financial champion and sounding board for non-financial leaders, leading financial management and analysis on projects, identifying financial risks and opportunities, supporting budgeting/forecasting, and conducting comprehensive analyses of business performance.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

  • Lead on preparation and communication of financial information for meetings with directors and departmental budget holders to drive and align strategic objectives.
  • Partner with directors, department heads, and key stakeholders to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.
  • Conduct month end reporting analysis and investigate variances to budget. Includes working with the management accountants and business managers to ensure compliance with financial process and identify transactional adjustments where necessary.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of financial performance, identifying trends, variances, key drivers, and areas for improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to support informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Finance lead on projects, including costing, tracking, reforecasting, risks and opportunities.
  • Support with the completion of financial models for the Business Case Process.
  • Support in providing financial information or data gathering for business cases.
  • Communicate complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Maintain robust audit trails and records of key financial decisions.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and presentations to support business decisions.
  • Work with the Accounting and Control Team and Financial Reporting team to provide/prepare evidence for year-end audit queries.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Professional qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or MBA).
  • Proven experience in a finance business partnering role, demonstrating strategic thinking and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong experience in building strong relationships across different business functions.
  • Evidence of strong modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to translate complex financial data into actionable and digestible insights.
  • Advanced MS Excel.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of our industry best practices or similar.
  • Proactive approach to staying up-to-date with financial information and trends.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar.
  • Experience using Jet Reports and Business Central.
