Rayo, part of the UBDS group, is seeking an SC Cleared, Full-Stack Developer to contribute to the development and support of cloud-native applications deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, combining strong Python back-end development with modern front-end engineering using React and TypeScript.
This role offers the opportunity to support, design, and build scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions for high‑impact public sector programmes, working within an Agile delivery environment.
The position is suitable for candidates with foundational full‑stack experience, as well as those with deeper technical capability who are looking to further progress their careers within cloud‑native and Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions hosted on AWS.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs using Python-based back-end frameworks.
- Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Work with AWS serverless and managed services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, and Simple Queue Service (SQS).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including automated testing and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, Quality Assurance, and platform teams to ensure high-quality, secure delivery.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to maintain technical and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across the full technology stack.
Requirements
Essential Experience and Skills
- Commercial experience developing back-end services using Python.
- Front-end development experience using React and TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, and SQS.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern deployment practices.
- Experience using Git for version control and participating in structured code review processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within Agile delivery teams.
- Active SC Clearance.
Desirable Experience
- Approximately 1–4 years of full-stack development experience.
- Hands‑on experience working in AWS cloud environments and delivery pipelines.
- Previous experience delivering solutions for public sector or regulated environments.
- AWS certification, such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate, is advantageous.
