Someone who brings structure, clarity and confidence to complex transitions, enjoys working across teams & clients, and takes pride in ensuring new services land smoothly and sustainably into operations.

The Role

As a Senior Service Transition Manager at UBDS, you will play a critical role in ensuring new and changed services are transitioned into live operations successfully. You will work closely with business owners, project managers, architects, engineers, operations teams and clients, acting as the bridge between delivery and BAU. This is a senior, hands-on role with influence across programmes, portfolios and stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Act as the primary point of coordination between project teams, operations, suppliers and business stakeholders to enable smooth service transitions.
  • Ensure Non-Functional Requirements (including support, resilience, security and performance) are captured, agreed, delivered and formally signed off.
  • Work closely with Change and Release functions to plan and execute implementations, avoiding conflicts, freezes and operational risk.
  • Lead the transition of services into live operations, including creation and approval of runbooks, SOPs and operational documentation.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer, playback sessions and validated transition plans are in place so teams can operate services independently.
  • Define and agree RACI models, clarifying ownership and responsibilities across all live support teams.
  • Design and operate a Service Readiness Process, acting as a gatekeeper to ensure only services that meet agreed criteria are accepted into live.
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing, training, tooling, documentation and support arrangements are delivered prior to go-live.
  • Confirm training and non-functional requirements are met against agreed Service Acceptance Criteria.
  • Review transition and support processes, recommending improvements to drive continuous improvement across service delivery.
