We’re looking for an Azure Application Developer with strong API development experience to join our engineering team. You’ll work on complex client engagements, building secure, scalable and production ready solutions within Microsoft Azure.
The Role
As a Senior Developer at UBDS, you’ll work alongside developers, architects, DevOps and security engineers to design and build cloud native applications and APIs. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take solutions from requirements and design through development, testing and into production.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop and maintain applications and RESTful APIs within Azure
- Build cloud native services using Azure Functions, App Service and related technologies
- Develop and manage APIs using Azure API Management
- Integrate applications with enterprise systems, data platforms and third party services
- Implement secure authentication and access using Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, managed identities and RBAC
- Apply strong engineering practices including Git, automated testing and CI/CD
- Work with architecture, DevOps and security teams to deliver production ready solutions
- Support live services and troubleshoot application, API and integration issues
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Azure application development experience
- Strong C# and .NET development skills or equivalent
- Proven experience designing and delivering APIs in production
- Experience with Azure API Management and RESTful API design
- Experience with Azure Functions, App Service and Azure integration services
- Good understanding of API security, authentication and authorisation
- Experience with Git, automated testing and Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or Bicep
- Strong problem solving, communication and stakeholder skills
- A collaborative approach and confidence working in client driven environments
- Experience within enterprise, public sector or regulated environments would be advantageous
Security Clearance
Many of our engagements support UK public sector organisations. You should be eligible and willing to undertake BPSS and obtain UK Security Clearance where required. Existing SC clearance would be advantageous.
