UBDS Group is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to support the development and operation of cloud-based services across a range of transformation programmes. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in AWS and/or Azure, looking to further develop their skills in a multi-cloud environment. You will work as part of a collaborative engineering team to build, automate, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, build, and maintenance of cloud-based services across AWS and Azure
- Contribute to the development and management of CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery
- Assist in implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud environments
- Work within a multi-cloud environment, supporting deployments and services across AWS and Azure
- Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps practices and improve delivery workflows
- Support monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system performance and reliability
- Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Contribute to automation and process improvements, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency
- Participate in code reviews and team collaboration activities
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineer, or similar role
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure; willingness to work across both)
- Basic experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or similar)
- Understanding of cloud-based service development and deployment
- Knowledge of containerisation (e.g. Docker; Kubernetes exposure beneficial)
- Awareness of monitoring and logging tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Azure Monitor)
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Basic knowledge of cloud networking and security principles
Desirable
- Experience working in a multi-cloud environment (AWS and Azure)
- Exposure to serverless technologies (e.g. AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)
- Experience in public sector or regulated environments
- Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies
- Interest in platform engineering or automation best practices
Security Requirements
This role may require Security Clearance (SC). Candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo the clearance process.
