Rayo, part of the UBDS group, is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and optimise continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and cloud infrastructure across secure and scalable AWS platforms. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting modern DevOps practices, automating deployment processes, and enhancing platform resilience through proactive engineering and infrastructure automation.
This role is well-suited to experienced DevOps professionals who can deliver robust cloud environments, collaborate closely with development teams, and identify ongoing opportunities for operational and performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline.
- Build and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Implement and support configuration management tooling (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
- Script automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages to enhance deployment and monitoring activities.
- Manage containerised environments using ECS and EKS, ensuring scalability and high availability.
- Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
- Collaborate with development, security, and platform teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with DevSecOps principles.
- Contribute to the modernisation of legacy platforms by applying cloud-native patterns and practices.
- Promote continuous improvement and advocate for engineering excellence and secure operations.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, and networking configurations.
- Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Understanding of monitoring, alerting, and logging best practices in cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of secure DevOps practices and relevant compliance frameworks.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex deployment and infrastructure issues in production environments.
- 3β5 years of experience in DevOps roles within AWS-based environments.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent certification.
- Experience modernising legacy platforms and introducing automation at scale.
- ITIL Foundation certification is advantageous.
- Previous experience in regulated or public sector environments.
