About The Role

UBDS are seeking a highly skilled Network / Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience to join our Secure Connectivity capability group, providing specialist support to UBDS clients\’ infrastructure, technology roadmaps, and projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network solutions across various client sectors
• Problem-solve and demonstrate passion for networking & technology
• Engage with diverse teams, offering opportunities for career growth in a dynamic environment
• Develop expertise as an SME for team members less familiar with networking
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding technical issues and inquiries, both orally and in writing
• Collaborate on outages, misconfigurations, and complex network issues
• Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, security, switching, and other network-related issues
• Work with colleagues and client teams to resolve critical escalated issues

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience with Cisco products and other major networking tools
• Understanding of networking and transport protocols like TCP, STP, OSPF, BGP
• Experience setting up/testing LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, NAT
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to communicate at all organizational levels
• Experience in troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving in networking
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Networking certification: CCNA or equivalent
• Eligibility for SC Clearance
• Experience with Aruba products, firewalls, and Azure networking is advantageous
