Rayo, part of the UBDS group, is seeking an SC Cleared, Full-Stack Developer to contribute to the development and support of cloud-native applications deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, combining strong Python back-end development with modern front-end engineering using React and TypeScript.
This role offers the opportunity to support, design, and build scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for high-impact public sector programmes, working within an Agile delivery environment. The position is suitable for candidates with foundational full-stack experience, as well as those with deeper technical capability who are looking to further progress their careers within cloud-native and Agile teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions hosted on AWS.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs using Python-based back-end frameworks.
- Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Work with AWS serverless and managed services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, and Simple Queue Service (SQS).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including automated testing and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, Quality Assurance, and platform teams to ensure high-quality, secure delivery.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to maintain technical and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across the full technology stack.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Commercial experience developing back-end services using Python.
- Front-end development experience using React and TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, and SQS.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern deployment practices.
- Experience using Git for version control and participating in structured code review processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within Agile delivery teams.
- Active SC Clearance.
Desirable Experience
- Approximately 1-4 years of full-stack development experience.
- Hands-on experience working in AWS cloud environments and delivery pipelines.
- Previous experience delivering solutions for public sector or regulated environments.
- AWS certification, such as AWS Certified Developer - Associate, is advantageous.
