Summary
The European PM (EU PM) provides operational oversight of assigned UBC projects, leading planning, coordination and completion of project work. The EU PM works closely with external clients/sponsors, internal project team members, vendors, and suppliers to ensure satisfactory delivery of contracted services and achievement of project milestones within defined budgets.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day management of European/multi‑national global projects.
- Manage project scope, budget and timelines; prepare or coordinate development of deliverables.
- Ensure projects are conducted according to UBC and client SOPs, including training and record keeping.
- Act as UBC primary contact with sponsors for all project‑related items; coordinate investigator meetings and client meetings.
- Lead internal and external project meetings and manage project budget tracking.
- Develop and monitor project plans (risk, site, training, communication) and ensure compliance with established plans.
- Supervise and provide direction to project team members (PAs, APMs, CRAs, CSS, RA).
- Negotiate investigator/site/vendor budgets and address contract language improvements.
- Participate in protocol, case report form and study report design and review.
- Maintain Trial Master File and Clinical Trial Management System.
- Complete departmental oversight trackers and perform Lead CRA or CRA duties as needed.
- Contribute to UBC process improvement initiatives and present project information at client and internal meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education & Experience
- Minimum bachelor’s degree (clinical, scientific or related field) or advanced degree desirable; equivalent job experience acceptable.
- 2–3 years of direct project management experience at a CRO or 5+ years of clinical trial experience.
- Proven working experience within clinical research and understanding of cross‑functional project management principles.
Technical & Knowledge
- Proficient with web‑based IT systems (e.g., CTMS, electronic CRFs) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project).
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for research conduct (GCP, ICH guidelines).
- Excellent working knowledge of clinical research and development, including medical terminology and therapeutic areas.
- Good quantitative skills and project budget understanding.
- Proficient in local language and fluent in English (oral and written).
