UAV REMOTE PILOT

(Defence focused, eligiblity for SC clearance required, UK Citizens encouraged to apply)

The role suits experienced UAS pilots with a military background, and licensed pilots looking to move into unmanned aviation.

UAV Talent is looking for Remote Pilots with to support a large growing UAV fleet on critical ISR UAS operations. A flying background brings the airmanship, airspace awareness and decision-making that these operations rely on.

You will run live BVLOS, long range flights, manage problems as they come up and keep operations safe and compliant. The role involves a mix of UK and overseas work, with around half your time spent in the field working hands-on with advanced UAV platforms. You will also feed back on system performance to help improve the aircraft.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

β€’ Support the Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) in executing live UAS missions

β€’ Conduct all flight operations safely, within regulatory compliance and fully documented

β€’ Lead safety procedures before, during and after every flight

β€’ Troubleshoot and provide direct support during emergencies or technical issues

β€’ Coach and support junior operators, embedding best practice

β€’ Feed operational insight back into product development

β€’ Maintain proficiency and readiness across all key platforms

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

β€’ A rotary-wing flying background is highly valued. LAPL, PPL or PPL(A) holders are encouraged to apply.

β€’ Military rotary-wing pilots looking to transition into UAS are welcome

β€’ Completed UAS ground school with hands-on flight experience

β€’ Sound grasp of meteorology and both controlled and uncontrolled airspace

β€’ Holds A1/A3 as a minimum (CAA/EASA); A2 CofC preferred

β€’ Radiotelephony certified, with clear and effective communication

β€’ Experience on larger or long-endurance UAS platforms is an advantage, but not essential

β€’ Composed under pressure, reliable and focused on mission success

β€’ Fluent English (C2 level or above)

β€’ Applicants must be sole UK nationals and eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
