To support the design, delivery and assurance of training as part of EEI’s Recognised Assessment Entity (RAE) function, ensuring courses, assessments and associated activities are delivered in accordance with applicable regulatory, quality and organisational requirements.
- Key Areas of Responsibility
- Support the Chief Instructor – RAE and Training Manager in the implementation and delivery of EEI’s RAE pilot competence framework.
- Provide support to Training Services and other EEI divisions on associated projects across multiple aircraft types as future contracts are secured or existing work is varied.
- Deliver EEI Academy RAE courses as tasked, including associated course administration, in accordance with approved processes, the Training Performance Manual (TPM) and the EEI Exposition.
- Develop and deliver EEI Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA)-based training courses, including curriculum design, regulatory alignment and associated course administration, in accordance with the TPM, Exposition and Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support the development and maintenance of training materials and curricula for EEI Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) operations, ensuring compliance with applicable Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of applicable regulatory documents and internal controls in accordance with EEI’s QMS, TPM and Exposition.
- Maintain personal EEI currencies and competencies in accordance with current processes and policies.
- Assist the Chief Instructor – RAE in ensuring EEI UAS platforms are maintained in line with manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.
- Support the creation and maintenance of RAE training materials, joining instructions, learner guides and assessments.
Support compliance with the wider EEI Safety Management System (SMS), reporting any safety‑related incidents arising during training delivery or other tasked activity.
- Conduct risk assessments relating to training delivery and training locations when required.
- Adhere to all EEI security and IT procedures as defined in the EEI QMS.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Chief Instructor – RAE/Aircrew or Head of Training Services, including support to wider EEI business activities where required.
- A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 Cof C) and General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) multirotor qualified, with a minimum of 20 hours’ total flying experience.
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), or equivalent instructional qualification.
- Demonstrable understanding of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) regulatory frameworks relevant to UAS and RPAS training and operations.
- Experience delivering structured training, including lesson planning, practical instruction, assessment and learner evaluation.
- Proven ability to work within a Quality Management System (QMS) environment and maintain training compliance, records and associated documentation.
- Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET), or equivalent higher‑level teaching qualification.
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), or equivalent assessor/internal quality assurance qualification.
- Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) Level 1 rotorcraft qualified, with progression towards higher levels viewed favourably.
- General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) fixed wing qualified.
- European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) STS‑01 qualification.
- Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) experience in civilian or military environments.
- Experience developing or delivering Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA)-based training content.
- Experience supporting UAS and RPAS operations across multiple aircraft types and platforms.
- Previous experience within a Recognised Assessment Entity (RAE), Air Operator Certificate (AOC), Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) or similar aviation governance or compliance environment.
- Experience supporting audit, assurance or regulatory documentation activities.

Safety/Risk Awareness – Maintains strong awareness of safety and risk considerations during training delivery, supporting safe working practices and risk assessment activity where required.
Learner Management – Able to support learners throughout the training journey by monitoring progress, managing expectations and maintaining a professional learning environment.
Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
