The College
London College of Music is placed within the University of West London as a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals.
The College is the largest specialist music and performing arts institution in the UK (United Kingdom) and is looking for an appointment to develop further teaching and research relating to music education practices.
The Role
The post holder will support a variety of University of West London events on and off campus, providing technical expertise in sound and theatre operations. Key duties include setting up and operating theatre equipment (with manual handling and working at height as required), offering technical support during rehearsals and production meetings, demonstrating equipment and techniques to staff, students, and guests, and serving as production manager during performances. The role also involves contributing to the smooth delivery of all events as needed.
The Person
The ideal candidate will bring specialist expertise in sound within a theatre and performance context, with the ability to work effectively under pressure as part of a small technical team. They will have experience operating, configuring, and maintaining sound equipment for theatre and music events, and technical get-ins and get-outs and be confident delivering technical demonstrations. A strong commitment to health and safety, professionalism, and providing high-quality support to students, staff, and guests is essential.
