The Epidemiology Group (www.abdn.ac.uk/epidemiology) runs and hosts the British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) Psoriatic Arthritis Register (www.abdn.ac.uk/bsr-psa). Funded by, and working with, the British Society for Rheumatology (www.rheumatology.org.uk), the register has been set up to track the progress of people with psoriatic arthritis who are commencing biologic or targeted synthetic Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (DMARDs) to answer a broad set of research questions around the use, effectiveness and safety of these medications.

The Epidemiology Group would like to appoint an analyst to work on the British Society for Rheumatology Psoriatic Arthritis Register (BSR-PsA). The main purpose of the role is to be the lead analyst on the register, including all tasks associated with this. The successful candidate will contribute to research aimed at better understanding health outcomes for people with psoriatic arthritis who are commencing biologic or targeted synthetic DMARDs, working with complex health registry data to generate insights.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, with experience in longitudinal data analysis and, ideally, epidemiological or other health registry datasets. Candidates should have the ability to work both as part of a team and independently. In addition, time management, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential.

Other duties may include similar tasks across the remainder of the Epidemiology Group portfolio of studies.

Applicants may be invited to undertake a short task as part of the selection process prior to interview. Invitation to complete the task does not guarantee an interview, and invitation to interview will be subject to satisfactory completion of this task to an appropriate standard.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 scale, £38,784 per annum.

Informal enquiries should be made to Professor Gareth Jones or Professor Gary Macfarlane (epidemiology@abdn.ac.uk).

Prior to employment, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK. This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route under the UKVI immigration rules but is dependent on factors specific to the candidate and if tradeable points can be used under the rules.
