About the role

As Teaching Associate, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, research‑informed teaching across our undergraduate programmes. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with demonstrable teaching experience in Econometrics, while also welcoming applications from candidates with experience across the full range of Economics disciplines. This is an ideal opportunity for an early‑career academic looking to develop their teaching portfolio within a supportive and inclusive School, alongside active engagement with our research culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare, assess and mark examinations and coursework to a high academic standard
  • Supervise and examine undergraduate dissertations
  • Support tutorial groups, fostering subject knowledge, confidence and independent learning skills
  • Contribute positively to the School’s teaching community, including initiatives that address issues of underrepresentation
  • Play an active role in the pastoral support of students, sensitively addressing wellbeing and academic concerns
  • Undertake relevant administrative duties that support the effective running of the School

About you

You will have, or be close to submission of, a PhD (or equivalent) in Economics or Econometrics. As teaching within the School is underpinned by research, applicants should outline their research interests and indicate which of the School’s Research Centres they would most closely associate with. You will be an enthusiastic and reflective teacher, committed to inclusive education and continuous improvement, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
