Salary:
Competitive starting salary range from £41,049 up to £42,286 pro rata (dependent on experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced EAP Tutor to lead the administration and delivery of the Coventry University English Test (CUET), an international English language proficiency test that supports the University’s global partnerships and student recruitment activities.
In this role, you will manage and standardise a team of markers, oversee the secure allocation of test materials and completed scripts, and work closely with Recruitment & Admissions colleagues to ensure the timely delivery of results. You will moderate marking, investigate any cases of academic misconduct or test breaches, and provide training and guidance to invigilators to ensure consistent test delivery and security standards across all locations.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the quality, integrity and success of a globally recognised English language testing programme.

- 18.5 hours per week (0.5fte)
- Contract dates: 5 October to 18 December 2026, with the potential for further contracts for key student recruitment cycles in 2027.
- Remote work – the successful candidate will not need to attend the Coventry campus but will need to be based within the UK and be available remotely during working hours to liaise with stakeholders and markers.
Qualifications Required
- Undergraduate degree
- Diploma level qualification and/or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g. TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Language Testing)
- Native or near native speaker (IELTS 8.0 or above) standard of written and spoken English
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of language testing principles and secure test delivery processes, with experience in test administration, marking standardisation and moderation, and handling academic misconduct.
You will have previous experience leading teaching or marking teams, working collaboratively with stakeholders across an educational institution, and managing competing priorities within tight deadlines. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, accuracy in data reporting, and a thorough understanding of data security, confidentiality, and GDPR requirements are essential.
