Position Overview

Department: Med Surg

Schedule - Multiple Options:

  • Full-Time Nights: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Full-Time Weekend Days: Saturday & Sunday + 1 additional 12-hour shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Every Weekend Nights: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

What You Will Do

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
