Permanent – Swansea – £44,406 to £49,394 per annum (starting salary within this range). 37 hours per week. Trinity House works for the benefit and safety of all mariners as a General Lighthouse Authority and maritime charity. This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership to the field technician team during maintenance and project works. Your responsibilities will include the maintenance and repair of our aids to navigation, lighthouses, and other installations. The working environments can vary from land-based installations to offshore, many requiring access over rough ground. Given the location of the stations, you will spend significant time away from home, working and living in close proximity with your work colleagues. This, coupled with the physical nature of the duties, calls for appropriate levels of health and fitness. Modes of transport to access the installations can be a combination of road transport, boat and helicopter.

Skills and Experience

  • Experienced technical maintenance/installation practitioner able to work unsupervised, including selecting and managing building contractors.
  • Appropriate level of practical training as provided by a craft apprentice.
  • Understanding of management information systems.
  • Working knowledge of HSE requirements and Electricity at Work regulations, holding certification of the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Full driving licence.
