Financial Management Analyst in the Accounting Division (Code 610) and Accounts Payable (Code 612) of Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Responsibilities:
- Implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
- Provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization’s programs and activities.
- Research and analyze various errors from the official accounting system.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be deemed suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy must pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
- If applying as a current federal employee, must have served at least one year at the next lower grade level.
- Retired military members may be appointed within 180 days after retirement pursuant to 5 U.S.C. § 3326.

- Experience interpreting contracting, invoicing, and related issues that result in late payment.
- Experience reconciling payment discrepancies.
- Experience analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative financial management methods for organizational programs and administrative operations.
Education:
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
- Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
- LL.M., if related.
- Transcript required with application if qualifying through education.
