What You'll Do
- On the Switchboard: Operate the Embassy's Cisco switchboard, managing domestic and international calls. Serve as a critical point of contact during emergencies: fires, medical evacuations, and more. Support American citizens in distress, connecting them with the right Duty Officers after hours.
- On the IT Helpdesk: Review and assign IT service requests, keeping things running smoothly. Support Embassy staff with timekeeping, travel, and financial management applications. Help maintain the section's SharePoint site and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a switchboard operator, call handler, customer service advisor, or helpdesk support operator.
- Four GCSEs, a U.S. High School Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Fluent English (spoken, written, and read).
- A calm, professional telephone manner, even with the most challenging callers.
- Strong IT literacy, excellent judgment, and a team‑first attitude.
