The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a CLC Medical Director (Physician). The CLC Medical Director (Physician) will function in the Medicine Service.
Duties include:
- Overseeing post-acute and long-term care operations
- Facilitating national survey committees
- Monitoring performance metrics
- Participating in and co-chairing numerous hospital committees (infection control, antibiotic stewardship, quality assurance and performance improvement, bioethics, dementia, etc.)
- Medical oversight of a network of VA-contracted community nursing homes across Northeast Ohio
- Supervising up to 20 medical providers
- Conducting routine performance evaluations
- Workload distribution
- Managing disciplinary actions
- Ensuring compliance with productivity targets and a wide range of administrative policies and procedures
- Daily rounds on nursing home patients
- Managing and supervising medical students and resident physicians
- Coordinating care between various acute inpatient units and external facilities such as emergency departments, long-term care, and rehabilitation facilities
- Providing periodic clinical coverage on acute inpatient medicine wards and the emergency department
Compensation and Benefits include:
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
- 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
- Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401(k) with up to 5% in contributions by VA
- Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care insurance
- One full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory
- Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement for CME (must be full-time with board certification)
- Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
- No physician employment contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
- Various tours to encompass both day and night shifts
Requirements include:
- Full and unrestricted medical license from any US state or territory
- Board certification required
- Experience as Medical Director of a post-acute and long-term care (PALTC) facility preferred
- Infectious disease or infection control experience preferred
- Emergency department and inpatient medicine experience preferred
- Eligible for faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine commensurate with experience
