The Dialysis Staff Nurse includes responsibility for all dialysis/nursing activities of the acute and chronic end stage renal disease patient. The RN will report directly to the Nurse Manager for Dialysis. The incumbent is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing direct patient care.

This Nurse possesses specialized knowledge and skills regarding the treatment of patients with acute and chronic renal failure in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Dialysis Nurse possesses the ability to perform hemodialysis, critical care dialysis treatment, CRRT, Plasmapheresis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Home Dialysis, and infusion therapies.

The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for performing the dialysis procedures by following the physician's orders. The Dialysis Nurse will effectively function as the Team Leader, who directs the RN and other Team members in the unit when designated. The Dialysis Nurse participates/leads unit based shared governance, performance improvement projects, unit-based committees and safety initiatives.

The Dialysis Nurse will provide hemodialysis to patients with COVID and other infectious diseases. The Dialysis Nurse will perform hemodialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapies (CRRT), Plasmapheresis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Emergency treatments and related therapies during on call hours.

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday and every other weekend required. Required on call after hours and Holidays. Tour duty is 10 am 6:30 pm. Compressed tours available. Tours of duty may vary based on agency needs.
