Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.

Duties:

  • Resolve complicated pay and allowance problems such as correcting a pay account which may include retroactive claims involving extensive research and manual computations, taxes, and allotment reconciliation.
  • Verify eligibility and compute pay and allowance cases using rules and regulations governing each pay entitlement.
  • Review pay accounts and service records to resolve problems affecting enlistment extension and reenlistment eligibility and bonuses.
  • Audit pay accounts to resolve issues involving several months and/or many years of pay history.
  • Compute and correct any irregularities or if action is to be returned to input source, provide specific guidance for corrective action.

  • Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification
