Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
Duties
- Responsible for guiding the team toward the goal; reporting of metrics; backlog tracking; removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments.
- Identifies, plans, and coordinates various IT systems/software projects.
- Estimates project costs and submits cost estimates for related funding plans.
- Evaluates new information technologies, processes, and software for application to mission information needs.
- Develops requirements and project schedules monitoring closely to ensure that Directorate and DFAS projects are on schedule and meeting requirements within established budget limitations.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- New employees to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements in 12 months.
- Telework availability is limited and will only be provided on a rare case-by-case basis during situations where Agency Leadership has determined that telework serves a compelling DoD need.
