Following additional investment we are currently expanding our SMB Sales team in the UK and as a result are recruiting for a number of Sales Specialist roles. The team will be responsible for generating new business sales within the UK SMB business segment focusing initially on London and the South East and South West. However we do have other roles focusing on other geographical territory in the UK (so please do still apply if you want to explore an opportunity within our SMB team).
As a Sales Specialist you will close referred leads and self-generated business, through selling a range of Payment Solutions. We are particularly interested in candidates who have mid-market experience operating between 5 and 10 million in terms of card turnover and also welcome candidates with a payments product specialist (ie gateways, software etc.) or payments expertise in a specific market vertical. The core measures of success will be new customer growth and revenue targets. The role will suit someone who is a self-starter and able to generate new opportunities from both existing connections, prospecting and territory management.

- Technical Competencies: Experience in a business-to-business direct sales role that is primarily focused on new business acquisition. Specialist knowledge of the payments market is desirable. Experience operating between 1 and 10 million in terms of card turnover. Track record in creating a sales pipeline, identifying the best solution for customers and closing sales in the SMB market. Experienced in selling a variety of solutions (e.g Ecom solutions, SaaS) in addition to core acquiring. Direct experience of following a competency based framework model to develop sales practices. Proven ability to develop and maintain an effective network of contacts and build relationships at all levels of Elavon, partners and externally. Commercial and financial acumen with awareness of potential issues involved in negotiating contracts. An influential and highly effective communicator (verbal/non-verbal/written). A team player able to work and support colleagues across a multinational organisation. A willingness to accept change and the ability to maintain effectiveness in a changing environment with ability to “see the bigger picture.”
- 2 years B2B sales experience essential and minimum of 18 months payments knowledge preferred.
- Financial services experience is beneficial.
