About the position: This position is located at Air Spare Bowling Center, RAF Fairford, UK. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Investigation. Subject to an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

Duties Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement is citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60 mile radius) of RAF Fairford, UK, or will do so within the next 30 days. Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces. Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Documentation could include PCS Orders, UK Visa, etc.

Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the UK for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (e.g., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, contract universities, military banking facilities, US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.

In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens (including UK dual citizens) may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.

To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements below. Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, volunteer work through programs like Peace Corps or AmeriCorps, and other organizations. All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, should be clearly described in your resume. If qualifying based on education, transcripts will be required.

Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME):

  • Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures.
  • Ability to safeguard and handle cash; skill in the use and maintenance of recreational equipment and facilities (desirable but not required).
  • Ability to follow simple oral instructions, use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines.
  • Skill in performing tasks with several steps and using judgment in sequencing tasks.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food and beverages, and in cleaning equipment and work areas.
