SEN Teaching Assistants – Portsmouth
Do you enjoy working with children? Do you have the resilience and patience to work and support special needs students? Are you keen to make a difference to students' progression in the classroom and for the future?
A specialised school situated in Portsmouth is looking for TA’s who want to add to their already exceptional school! The school caters for children from KS3-KS4 across a School which are run separately but on the same site! The children have a mix of abilities but all have Autism and other complex needs. Some will be verbal, others requiring support with routines, Makaton and life skills.
You will be required to be available at least 3-5 days a week, ready for early morning booking and happy to work 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist students with their physical, emotional and academic needs.
- Enabling learners to access the curriculum.
- Support the pastoral needs of the learners.
- Be an active part in setting the learning environment.
- Supporting learners on a 1:1 basis and part of a small group in a range of activities throughout the day.
